June was an active month at RUBARB. Most notably we went to the June 20 New Orleans Zephyrs game which also happened to be the Star Wars fireworks post-game show night.  About 15 youth and 10 adults carpooled to Kenner to relax on the levee and watch the Zephyrs play ball.

Also Catherine & Alex from the Habitat for Humanity construction team worked on RUBARBs drainage line and repaired our siding. So much gratitude for all their hard work.

RUBARB wants to give shout outs to:

** Tom Bilderback and his crew of volunteers

** Unseen Project donating several tools and resources

** Katherine and Alex for building improvements

** Kate for electrical repairs

** Mr. Bailey for providing the space

** AND ESPECIALLY all the awesome volunteers at RUBARB!!!

RUBARB took it's annual summer field trip to Wavelabnd, MS (Aug '14)!  The bike shop crew swam all day, picknicked, found crabs, buried each other in the sand, got stung by jellyfish and had an amazing time frolicking on the beach. We ended with a stop at Bayou Sauvage, where we watched fishermen rangle a garfish and ate watermelon on the dock.  Fun was had by all!  Stay tuned for Fall field trips and other exciting events.
