*RUBARB held a "repair-a-thon" and farewell party, to thank St Mary's for hosting us all these years and celebrate an end of an era! we fixed up a bunch of bikes, ate great food, held raffles, and had a drum circle hosted by project rising. thanks to all that helped, attended, participated!
*RUBARB took a crew to the zoo for the "Poetry Debut"-- poetry was installed all around the zoo, right by the various exhibits and animals. We strolled around, watched the creatures, pet some animals, and played in a torrential downpour. Thanks to the New Orleans Public LIbrary for the free tickets!
*3 RUBARB kids got to experience the 1st annual bike rodeo, which taught them about bike safety, hand signals, and road signs. A bicycle 2nd line passed us by and we ended the day with natural frozen pops at the Crescent City Farmers Market. yum!
RUBARB had an amazing time welcoming visitors from out of town forBikeBike!2013 and celebrated with our Back to School Bike Bash!Bash! RUBARB hosted many successful (and packed!) workshops for 2 days and had an amazing party with food, raffles, a kids alley cat (kitten?) race... it ended with our highly acclaimed SHADOW PUPPET SHOW.
Some RUBARBians helped out with the 2nd annual Haunted House at the Community Printshop and we took kids to experience the magic (and gore!).
